TERMS OF SERVICE

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PLATES mobile application and the website at getplates.xyz (together, "PLATES", "the app", "we", "us"). By downloading, accessing or using PLATES you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What PLATES is

PLATES helps you track strength training, calculate ranks and leaderboards, and (for creators) connect social accounts so promotional posts can be attributed. Features may change over time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use PLATES. If you use PLATES on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.

3. Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping any login or portal codes confidential. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Misuse the app, scrape it aggressively, or interfere with our systems
• Upload unlawful, infringing or abusive content
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity or posts
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or circumvent security or paywalls

5. Subscriptions & payments

Paid features are billed through the Apple App Store. Apple's payment terms and Licensed Application End User License Agreement also apply to purchases made via Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.

6. Creator tools

If you link a social account (for example TikTok) to a PLATES creator portal, you explicitly authorise us to:

• Read your public profile data (display name and avatar) via OAuth
• Fetch your published video metadata (title, description, view count, like count, comment count, share count, publish date)
• Poll for new videos daily to detect PLATES-related posts and attribute views
• Store encrypted refresh tokens to maintain this access

We do NOT access: video content itself, private messages, or any data beyond what is needed for attribution. You can revoke access or disconnect your social account at any time via your creator portal settings. Upon disconnection, we delete synced social data within 7 days.

Attribution Disclaimer: Attribution figures are estimates produced by our defined algorithmic method, based on post timestamps, keyword matching, and published metadata. They are not guarantees of payment, legal claims, or official TikTok engagement metrics. Attribution is provided for informational purposes only. We are not liable for inaccuracy, missed attributions, or disputes arising from attribution calculations.

7. Data retention and deletion

PLATES retains your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

• Account data (name, email, workouts) is deleted within 30 days
• Synced social data (TikTok metadata) is deleted within 7 days
• Encrypted tokens are invalidated immediately
• Aggregated, anonymized analytics may be retained for improvement

You can request deletion of your account at any time via settings or by contacting support@getplates.xyz. Certain data may be retained longer if required by law or to resolve disputes.

8. Intellectual property

PLATES, its branding, design and software are owned by us or our licensors. You keep ownership of content you create (workouts, posts, captions). You grant us a limited licence to use that content only as needed to operate the features you use.

10. Disclaimers

PLATES is provided "as is". Training guidance and ranks are informational — they are not medical advice. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of PLATES. Our total liability for any claim relating to PLATES is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for PLATES in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) £50.

12. Termination

You may stop using PLATES at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers and liability limits) continue after termination.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
